Sound Healing: A Non-Medical Approach to Stress Induced Dis-ease

I have used sound and vibration to address and overcome worrisome health issues such as aberrant cells, foot pain and high levels of emotional stress. My clients have found sustained relief from depression, anxiety, negative thinking, high blood pressure, mental fog, sprains, injuries and many other conditions.

It has been said that stress is responsible for 90% of all illness and disease. Only 10% is attributed to genetic factors. Sound healing has been used since ancient times as a highly effective stress reducing modality.

Sound and vibration healing is still an effective means for empowering health and overall well-being in today’s modern world. In this Youtube video, Dr. Bruce Lipton explains exactly why and how sound healing works. I encourage you to watch the whole video. In case you are short on time. I have jotted down a few of Dr. Lipton’s important talking points.

He explains that vibrational energy is more effective at delivering information to a biological system than a chemical messenger (standard medication) is. When a chemical messenger binds with something in order for it to work it loses 98% of information during the chemical reaction of binding. This means that only 2% of necessary information is being carried to the system with a chemical messenger. No such loss exists when using vibrational energy to carry a message to the body. A vibrational message sends 100% of information to the system and it does so at a much faster rate. He also goes onto explain that chemical signals travel at about 1 foot per second whereas vibration travels at 186,000 miles per second. So in terms of transferring information, vibration is 100x more efficient than a chemical signal.

Sound healing uses the principle of constructive interference. This is when one energy couples with another to enhance it: bringing harmony and coherence where there is disharmony or incoherence. This is why one can feel so good after a constructive sound session.

Sound healing is not a replacement for professional medical help. It is a complement to Western medicine. It also falls into the category of alternative medicine for those seeking a non-medical approach to mind-body health.

Subconscious Re-Program with Psychic Sleep

What if there was a simple practice that allowed you to reprogram the parts of your subconscious holding you back from living your best life? You see, the subconscious informs the conscious mind in most of what you do. If your subconscious holds a story such as, “you are not good enough or worthy enough”, then your conscious mind will follow suit with actions or inactions to support those beliefs. Self-sabatoge anyone?

There is an ancient tantric practice that helps re-program the subconscious with positive messaging so to better direct our actions. This practice dates as far back as 1000 AD and was modernized in the 1960’s by a teacher from the Bihar School of Yoga. It is a practice that helps one to access and reprogram the subconscious in a seemingly effortless manner. It is known as Psychic Sleep or Yoga Nidra.

As a long-time yoga teacher, I often would introduce elements of Yoga Nidra to my students at the end of class while they rested in Savasana aka corpse pose; the usual supine relaxation position taken at the end of a yoga session. It is in this resting state that the practice of Psychic Sleep is experienced. A quote from one of the oldest tantric texts to date, the Vigyana Bhairava Tantra, describes the state of yoga nidra as “the point of sleep when sleep has not yet come and when external wakefulness vanishes”. It is during this point, that pure being is said to be revealed.

It is here, at the precipice of sleep, where we can re-program the subconscious with a positive resolve. Experiencing a Sound Bath during the practice of Psychic Sleep is doubly beneficial as the gentle vibrations loosen up the debris of the old to make way for the new.

Live Life Soundly!

Transforming Fear to Freedom

It is Halloween, a time for horror flicks, scary decorations and fun. This season provides short-term spooks but what happens when small every day fears lurk steadily in the back-drop of your life?

Fear of the future, or of the unknown can silently dictate what we can or can’t do. It can stop us from reaching our goals or from setting them in the first place. Subconscious fears can stop us from taking action even when we know it is good for us to do so.

This is a good time of year to take stock of both our conscious and subconscious fears. Taking the time to acknowledge and face our fears will help diminish their power over us. Sound is a wonderful mechanism for tapping into the subconscious as certain frequencies bring us effortlessly into deep alpha and theta meditative states.

This Halloween weekend we are offering a Guided Sound Journey to help transform Fears into Freedom. In the spirit of Halloween, we will also have a guest Channeler who will deliver some uplifting messages along with the healing frequencies.

How A Sound Bath Works?

A Sound Bath is a popular mode of self-care these days because it is deeply relaxing, rejuvenating and meditative at the same time. The practice of sound bathing is passive. Participants simply lie down on their back to “bathe” in a healing mix of vibro-acoustic sound. Once immersed in these rich healing sounds, it is easy to let go of worries and dive deep into a place of pure relaxation and bliss. This feeling of sweet serenity and well-being can last for many hours or even days afterwards.

The combination of frequencies brought on by healing instruments such as singing bowls, tuning forks, chimes, drums, gongs and the human voice work together to entrain the brain and body to a calm and meditative state. Vibrations help to remove any discordant or incoherent energy in the body or auric field thus bringing one into a state of harmony and balance. Negative thought patterns melt away as the sounds bring the mind to a meditative still-point. This is perfect for those who find traditional forms of meditation both uncomfortable and challenging. A Sound Bath is a perfect remedy for when life feels particularly stressful or for when you simply want to indulge in the act of self-care.

There are quite a few options for trying a sound bath in Los Angeles.
The Sound Code offers affordable sound bath events and individualized sound bath experiences at this time.

How To Get The Subconscious Mind To Work For You – Rather Than Against You

If you find that your inner voice is your biggest critic, then you are most likely engaging in negative self-talk. Our self-talk reflects our core beliefs. Many of these beliefs were formed during the formative years of our life when we needed to make sense of our experiences. These foundational beliefs have a huge impact on the actions we take or do not take throughout our lives.

The subconscious mind, in tandem with the core beliefs that we store there, basically runs the show in terms of our perceptions, behaviors and eventually the outcomes we derive from them.

Sound medicine offers powerful tools for reprogramming the subconscious mind. Specific frequencies help us ease into theta and alpha brainwave states; the brainwave states present during meditation and relaxation. These hypnagogic states of consciousness are fertile ground for acknowledging and releasing core beliefs that no longer serve us and the toxic emotions attached to them.

Harmonizing frequencies and intentional conscious programming subtly entrains the mind and body to new ways of being. When staying the course of an individualized sound healing protocol, it is possible to do the work of reprogramming the subconscious mind with the help of an experienced sound practitioner. Once you can leave behind the inner critic of negative self-talk and take on a healthier mindset, you will surely begin to walk a little lighter and happier. A newfound sense of empowerment and serenity will take the place of your old inner critic.

It is my greatest joy and honor to facilitate these transformations of consciousness- one ENERGY BEING at a time.

Highest blessings to all.

Sound As Medicine: My Covid-19 Experience

I contracted Covid-19 last month while living with an infected family member. As his symptoms rapidly escalated he asked me for an energy healing.

Post-session, he shared that the FEAR, that had taken hold of him during his illness, had finally lifted. This significant emotional shift was paramount for him to begin healing. He was grateful to be able to recover at home whereas before he thought he would surely need medical intervention.

In comparison, my symptoms were mild and short-lived. I am forever grateful for the gift of sound and energy medicine in helping me navigate this virus in home.

My wish, during this crisis, is for you to stay grounded in the highest of healing frequencies.

If you need support moving out of Fear while boosting your Respiratory Health try a Remote Quantum Frequency Alignment session.

A Sound Approach for Dealing with Covid 19

In the last month, I used sound and energy medicine to help someone who was having difficulty breathing recover from Covid 19. As a result of exposure,I also became infected. Research shows that a healthy body resonates at a frequency of 62-70 MHz. Virus and bacteria will lower the bodies frequency and disease starts when the body’s frequency falls under 58 MHz. My main objective during this time has been to clarify my field of consciousness while simultaneously amping up my body’s electrical voltage or resonant frequency.

I strongly believe that this energetic, two-fold approach has been paramount to my body’s ability to thwart off developing severe symptoms of Covid 19. My symptoms have been classified as mild. They include the inability to smell along with on-off again fatigue. It’s been almost 2 weeks now since I exhibited the first sign of symptoms. Sound and energy medicine have once again been instrumental to assisting my body in healing.

It is of great importance to the health of our mind body system to replace the noise of harming beliefs and emotions with healing, coherent frequencies that allow our body’s innate intelligence to do what it does best – HEAL.

Remote sessions are available for anyone wanting help in amping up their immune boosting and fear eradicating frequencies.Contact me at info@thesoundcode.com for more information.Sliding scale rates available.
Wishing you all sound health and happiness during this challenging time.

5 Tips for Handling Holiday Stress

It is that time of year again. Holiday songs play on the radio, decorations fill the stores, advertisements sell a “happy home” with a Hallmark family around the dinner table. But the reality is that the holidays can be stressful.

Making travel arrangements or playing host requires a lot of effort and spending time with family can be challenging as old dynamics are replayed and not so pleasant memories uprooted. Some may be alone for the holidays which can also be trying.

No matter your situation, practicing self care techniques can be vital for getting through the holidays.
Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind:

1. Deep Belly Breathing. You can’t stay calm when breathing shallow or hyperventilating. Practice a few minutes of deep belly breathing to help relieve stress quickly. Simply place one hand on your belly as you sit up straight or as you lie down flat. Breathe in through the nose as you inhale. Fill the belly with breath as if it were a balloon and as you exhale, breathe out through the mouth and allow the belly to empty. Practice deep belly breathing before big events or gatherings so that you can use it readily should you find yourself triggered. In the moment, you can practice this breath for about 30-60 seconds to help ameliorate an emotional flare up by giving yourself a well needed pause.

2. Practice gratitude. Focus on the things you are grateful for. This can be as simple as being grateful for your next deep belly breath. Practicing gratitude is a quick and effective way to shift the worried, anxious mind to thoughts that are lighter.

There are a few ways to practice gratitude. I like to say aloud what it is that I am grateful for and why. For example, “I am grateful for my eyes, with them I can see all the beauty that exists in the world. I can see my son, I can drive and read. Thank you, thank you, thank you for my eyes and working vision.
3. Move your body. Doing some gentle yoga or stretching before and after travel and during the holidays can be a way to move stored energy in the body. If you have an exercise routine, do your best to maintain it. If you are traveling, take some time to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and local sites. Get the blood flowing to help endorphin production spark an elevation in your mood.
4. Journal. Take some time to reflect on your feelings as you write them down. This allows for a safe space to channel any scattered or negative emotions. It can help you to see what is coming up while providing a road map to track mental patterns or habits.

5. Shift frequencies: Treat yourself to sound and vibrational healing. Sing and dance to your favorite music or bask in resonant healing frequencies that harmonize the body, mind and spirit. Sound medicine has roots in ancient cultures and is enjoying a resurgence today in the field of both alternative and conventional medicine. Energy work, such as Reiki, pairs well with sound technology. Healing frequencies initiate a frequency shift that will leave you calm and peaceful this holiday season.

Sound & Vibration: A Safe, Non-Addictive Alternative for Pain Relief

The medical community is now realizing that cortisone shots can lead to rapid joint deterioration and osteoarthritis. Years ago a link had also been found between cortisone and the development of osteoporosis (Purdy).

Luckily for me, as an intuitive, I instinctively knew to decline numerous suggestions to get cortisone shots for a painful toe joint condition brought on by both genetics and the practice of daily Ashtanga yoga aerial-style jump backs.

Since then, I have successfully used sound, vibration and energy medicine to address my foot pain and so much more. I am happy to report living an active life once again doing yoga (sans jump backs) without the need to continue wearing clunky orthotics or the need to take bone degenerative or highly addictive pain medication such as Vicodin or Oxycontin. Yes, the medical community is now realizing that cortisone shots can lead to rapid joint degeneration, osteoarthritis and other severe complications (Donnelly).

At The Sound Code, there are two different program that address both pain and inflammation. The 3-in-1 Vibration program offers specific audible and inaudible frequencies that are safe for diminishing inflammation in the body. The program includes energy work such as Reiki and bio-energetic emotional clearing along with focused intention setting. The integration of all these components sets a strong foundation for healing. Sound Energy + Intention = Healing. The 2-In-1 Vibration Therapy program is for those who wish to forego the emotional clearing element. Both programs are complimentary to western medicine or an alternative to it for those seeking a drug-free, non-addictive, non-invasive and holistic approach to managing pain.

Filling the Void in Recovery with Sound Healing

Why is it that despite outward signs of success, praise and fame in a given career and or in other areas of life, some can’t seem to shake off the feeling that something is terribly wrong or missing in their lives? This is as true for those in recovery as it is for a practicing addict. Regardless of the amount of time spent in recovery, many in 12 steps continue to suffer, often quietly, from unresolved emotions or the feeling that something just isn’t quite right as if there were some emptiness or a void that needs filling.

Author and sacred music producer Dr. Michael Levy writes about the importance of the formative years for developing healthy emotional responsiveness later in life. If during the first 11 years of life a child experiences gaps in receiving a consistent high quality of love from their prominent care giver/s the child will most likely go on to feel the repercussions of this missing love later in life. He goes on to add that many of us find that there is “a hole, an inner feeling of rejection, a void in our hearts” that “drives us to search for it our entire lives without even knowing what we are looking for”. (Levry)

For many in recovery the formative years consist of varying levels of dysfunction peppered with drug, alcohol, physical and or emotional abuse. So, if Dr. Levry’s assessment is correct, then it comes as no surprise that this feeling of living life with a persistent void is all too familiar.

The Sound in Recovery program is a unique sound and vibration-based program designed to locate and shift disturbances in the energy body due to stored emotional pain and years of toxic stress. Throughout the 8-week process, a sound and energy practitioner works closely to entrain incoherent disturbances in your energy field to a state of coherence. Healing sound frequencies entrain the body back to a prime optimal resonant state so that overall healing can occur. In addition, clients receive one-on-one coaching in a series of action-oriented steps for integrating the high vibrational shift in their lives.

Carrying emotional pain and trauma in the energy body is like carrying around dead weight. It prevents us from fully enjoying what is going well in our lives and it also prevents us from living in the present. If left unchecked, energetic disturbances eventually embed themselves in the physical and mental body and manifest as pain related dis-ease or chronic stress issues such as anxiety and depression. The onset of this can be the subtle yet constant feeling that there exists a void or absence of sorts within. Something is wrong even when we can’t name just what that something is. Sound and vibrational healing modalities yield results in a gentle yet profound way often igniting a newfound sense of freedom, lightness of being and a sustained sense of over-all well-being.
